We're coming to you live from Estadio Robertson this morning as the Dynamo take on Houston Baptist in their first scrimmage of 2010. We'll have live updates right here on MyDynamo.net.

Pregame - OK, trying to get a look at the Dynamo lineup. Looks like Hall, Waibel, Robinson, Cochrane, Chabala, Mullan, Cameron, Davis, Navas, Ching, Landin.

3' - Mike Chabala plays a long ball down the left sideline to Luis Landin in the corner. He picks out Brian Ching with a cross, but Ching's header is right at HBU 'keeper Chris Dodd. First really movement by the Dynamo.

5' - After a hard foul fells Davis in the midfield - he gets up OK with a handshake for his HBU opponent - the Dynamo find Chabala with a long ball, and he earns a corner kick, but on the Davis delivery, a foul is whistled against the Dynamo.

7' - The Dynamo switch the ball from left to right, and eventually Brad Davis finds space about 25 yards out on the right side of the penalty area, but Dodd in goal handles his low drive relatively easily.

9' - Francisco Navas, the Dynamo Academy trialist starting on the left today, is one of the real stories of this preseason. Teammates and staff want to see if he can physically and mentally maintain his technical skill through the every-day grind of being a professional. So far, "Cisco!" is the most-heard cry of the day, with players and coaches trying to help him be in the right place. He's looked better and more confident on the ball than he did in training yesterday.

11' - The drums have just now started up in earnest for the first time for some of the diehards in attendance. There are maybe 150 or so people in attendance, all seated on the east side of the stadium. It's a cool, windy morning, so I see some people bundled up.

14' - HBU is in a 4-3-2-1 of sorts, and as you would expect, possession has been all Dynamo so far. Navas just drifted offside there on the left on a long ball out of the back. Still scoreless, of course.

17' - Navas gets loose from a Waibel long ball but heads the ball on goal from a bad angle rather than try to pull it back ... at the other end, HBU forward Joelle Daniel gets a yellow card for a hard aerial challenge on Ryan Cochrane. Everybody appears to be OK.

18' - DYNAMO GOAL! Brian Mullan gets the ball to Brad Davis on the right side of the penalty area. He jukes a defender out and curls a left-footed shot just inside the far post. Great precision on the shot, and it's 1-0 Dynamo.

21' - DYNAMO GOAL! Brian Mullan plays the ball down the right sideline to Brian Ching, and he plays it in the box to Luis Angel Landin, who one-times the ball into the top right corner from close range. 2-0, Dynamo.

26' - Mateo Jimenez, the HBU left back, is a former Dynamo Academy player and a local product from Spring Woods High School. Just a freshman.

28' - DYNAMO GOAL! The Dynamo get the ball to Navas at the top of the box, and he slips a pass in to Geoff Cameron making a run, and it's an easy finish for Cameron. 3-0, Dynamo. The best pass of that play came out of the midfield - either Davis or Ching.

29' - HBU gets a shot on goal from distance, but it's right at Tally Hall.

30' - Davis threads a pass to Landin on the left side of the area, and he goes down for a PK. A little soft maybe, but Brad Davis steps up ... and rifles it into the right side netting, just inside the post. 4-0 DYNAMO.

33' - Mullan makes a veteran move to sneak inside of Jimenez and earn a free kick for the Dynamo in the right corner ... Brad looks for a hat trick at the near post, but he bends it too much and hits the outside netting.

34' - Even though he's nominally playing "defensive" midfield, Geoff Cameron has gotten forward a lot today, which is a good sign. Of course, HBU isn't really stretching the Dynamo defense, so we'll see if he's able to do so against higher competition.

36' - A Dynamo free kick yields a couple of chances, but HBU clears one off the line, and a right-footed shot from Davis is right at Dodd.

BayVol - I wouldn't put my money on him to play 90 minutes at the moment, but that's one of the things he'll be working on throughout preseason, of course.

44' - Davis makes a steal, and Cameron feeds Navas on the break on the left-hand side of the box. He tries to slide it across the box but doesn't get much on the pass. He's been hot and cold today.

Half-Time - Dynamo lead it 4-0 at the break. We'll see what the lineup brings in the second half.

Christina - I believe he's here and has trained with the team, but I don't know that he'll see any action in this scrimmage.

Dynamo 2nd half lineup - Deric, Ustruck, Boswell, Hainault, Cruz, Walker, Appiah, Maciel, Ashe, Weaver, Oduro.

50' - DYNAMO GOAL! After a Corey Ashe cross is cleared, Danny Cruz picks the pocket of an HBU defender at the top of the 18, takes one touch, and rifles a shot to the top left upper 90. What a hit from Danny! 5-0 Dynamo.

52' - This is maybe the most inexperienced midfield trio (yes, I said trio - it's a 3-5-2) the Dynamo have ever had: third-round draft picks Samuel Appiah and David Walker and guest player Peter Maciel. So far Appiah has been the best of the three, and the Dynamo have been using the flanks a lot. It's pretty congested in the middle.

Christina - He's been solid so far. Relayed the ball, mostly, but he just had a good touch to avoid a defender in tight space.

56' - Good combination from the Dynamo. Maciel played it to Oduro in the left corner. He turned and crossed to the back post, where Cruz headed it down for Weaver to shoot low, but right at Dodd.

59' - Breakfast just arrived up here. Maciel with a long, low shot off a deflected corner, but it's well wide.

62' - HBU gets its first shot of the half, as Austin Westlake's Adam Jakle fires a shot from a wide angle on the right, and Tyler Deric holds it fairly comfortably.

66' - DYNAMO GOAL ... Corey Ashe runs inside off the left flank, then cuts back to his left foot and bends a low shot between the goalkeeper and the left post to make it 6-0.

69' - Ashe makes a man miss at the endline and serves a ball to the back post that apparently stays in play. Weaver and Walker both get chances from close range that are blocked by a charging Dodd.

72' - Maciel with a neat turn in the box and gets off a cross that's blocked by an unsuspecting HBU defender.

74' - Ashe with another back-post cross, and Danny Cruz tries an awkward-angle full volley that goes just high.

83' - Playing out the string here ... Maciel feeds Ashe on the left, but his cross is blocked.

87' - Weaver plays a good through ball to a streaking Cruz, but his effort is blocked by sub goalkeeper Tyler Atwell, and he makes another save as HBU escapes a flurry of pressure from Cruz, Weaver, and Oduro.

Full-Time - There's the whistle for the end of the match. 6-0 Dynamo not a bad way to start the preseason. Thanks for joining us, and a reminder that next Saturday's scrimmage against SMU is open only to season ticket holders and will be held at Carl Lewis. Season tickets are available at HoustonDynamo.com or by calling (713) 276-7500. You won't regret it.

Great time last night at the All Star v Man U game. Excellent atmosphere and venue. Had a great time. Man U was classic and the All Stars (in the first half anyway) looked like it was an exhibition.  The Dynamo connection was very apparent as Ching…

Agreed that the midfield needs strengthening up and Cameron being out is huge right now. I have said this before. I think the Dynamo can't even get an exhibition game with a european team. We are destined to play Pachuca for the foreseeable future.…

Really the only thing we can talk about is defense. Defense keeps us from losing games. I do believe we can live with constant ties, but we can't afford anymore loses for the rest of the season.
